I stopped caring about award show content many years ago.
(Nine years ago, to be exact. 2002. The year Jacob Young won a Daytime Emmy and Michael Caine did not win an Oscar. Rough year, that one.)
There are so many award shows these days that sometimes it is difficult to tell them apart. The Oscars had Cirque de Soleil but then so did the Daytime Emmys.
Being an award show host is a thankless job. If you do the same schtick, people are bored. If you try something different, people are offended. Maybe SAG has the right idea in not having a host at all.
Who knows? Who cares?
I tune in for the clothes. I love fashion. That said, I couldn’t tell you what is on trend. Or fashion-forward. Especially since “fashion forward” is often used to describe something similar to what I wore decades ago.
