About Us

Eye on Soaps was launched on August 4, 2000 with the goal to provide intelligent, insightful and witty commentary pertaining to ABC Daytime Drama.  As EOS progressed, the interest our readers had in our views on off topic subjects led us to begin including personal journals, reviews and other non-soap related material, which has been very enthusiastically received by our readers.

In 2011, we encountered a number of changes at once.  Our long-time friend, Sage Bourland, was forced to stop providing his membership site due to ongoing illness.  It was announced that ABC would cancel both All My Children and One Life to Live and General Hospital, our last remaining soap, was felt to be in imminent danger.

The staff of Eye on Soaps was ready for a change ourselves and we felt that while it was in the air, we would grab hold and see how high we could fly with it.  After many, many emails flew back and forth, we transformed into “All My Writers.”  Although we strongly identify ourselves as soap opera fans, we just as intensely relate to ourselves as writers.  Writing is what we love and is an important form of expression to us.  We deeply value the comments and emails we receive from our readers and we felt ready to open our subject matter to a broader spectrum.

Since its beginning, Eye on Soaps featured personal journals of its staff members and for a time, we had a section called “Eyes on the Night” which covered prime time shows as well as movies and books.  The section was not discontinued out of lack of reader interest, but purely because we all ran into trouble having enough time to write for everything we wanted to cover.  The inclusion of other topics is not new for Eye on Soaps and we are very happy to open that door and see what’s in there for us and for you.

We are  excited to explore those areas and more once again.  As much as we love covering our ABC soaps, we are also thrilled to cover the soaps on other networks, as well as a myriad of other subjects.  If you only want to read about soaps, feel free to click on the “Daytime” link in the top menu of our site and you will see only Daytime materials.

All My Writers invites Guest Column submissions.  If anyone would like to provide a column for us to review to consider for publication, please read the “Be A Guest Writer” guidelines in the top menu of this site.

As has always been the case with Eye on Soaps, All My Writers is staffed solely by volunteers.  None of the staff is paid to contribute or maintain the site.  We have survived since 2000 thanks to the efforts of our staff writers and the continued support of our community of readers.

In today’s economy, everything costs more and we at AMW are determined to remain on the internet, providing the very best ABC soap opera commentary until the bitter end, as well as other fun topics of interest.

Absolutely every contribution is vital.  Because our site is highly trafficked, the operating expenses are beyond the means of this webmaster alone, so not only do I appreciate the contributions from our readers, but I fully depend on it to continue doing what we do.

There are two ways you can contribute to All My Writers.  One is by secure transaction using a credit card or PayPal account by using the PayPal form on the right sidebar of this page.  If the denominations given do not match your desired donation, there is a box to enter any other amount you would like to contribute.

Thank you in advance for your support of our website and for being here.
