General Hospital Spoiler Commentary by Carolyn Aspenson

GHlogoMac is going to need me.  I can feel it.

Anna offers her resignation.

I hear Bo Buchanan is looking for a job?

Sabrina receives bad news about her future as a nurse.

Bad news? She just received good news.  Oh, wait.  This is a soap. Things are never what they seem.  My bad.

Sabrina is devastated when she learns that she won’t be graduating.

I would be too.  That’s a boat load of money spent then, for what?

Kristina confronts Molly about her feelings for Rafe.

Sadly, when I first read this spoiler, I thought, “Who?” for all three people.  It’s hard for me, an older woman, to invest in the drama of teens.  Been there, done that, on my own and with my daughters.  Not much interested in someone elses.  Can we please move on?

Sonny confesses to Carly that he slept with Connie.

Yeah, so?

Heather gives Todd hope for the future.

A savings bond?

Heather gets moved to a higher security hospital.

Ha! As if that will stop her! Probably she just considers it a bigger challenge!

Sonny tries to convince Kate to start therapy.

I have to admit, I feel bad for Sonny.  I still don’t like him, but I feel bad for him.  He can’t please either of this one woman and that has to suck.  I know my husband gets frustrated because I can be hard to please, but two of me? Yikes. He’d be institutionalized for sure!

Laura wonders if Anna is being faithful to Luke.

Huh? I thought they broke up.  Did I miss something?

Luke is determined to have Laura to see Scotty as he does.

Of course he is.  I look forward to the banter between them all.  Tony Geary has chemistry with anyone and anything, even a rock.  He’s always a joy to watch!

Luke confronts Scott about the Ice Princess replica.

Does he mention the size of Scotty’s forehead again? I hope so because that was funny!

Frisco pushes Felicia to meet him at the Metro Court.

Let’s play this out.  Felicia, in typical soap style, will fuss and argue and complain, saying she loves Mac and not Frisco, but ultimately, she’ll leave with Frisco, and both will once again screw their child, as they have before, leaving Mac to clean up the mess.  Go for it Felicia.  Send Mac my way. I’m more his type anyway.  I feel for Mac.  He’s a good guy and gets screwed because of it.  Really, he needs me.

Laura is furious after witnessing Anna and Duke kiss.

Seriously, did I miss something? I clearly remember Anna saying, “Luke and I broke up”.  Call me confused.

TJ feels neglected after Molly chose to spend time with Rafe over him.

Yeah, I would too.  I’m not all that invested in any of them, but if I had to, I’d choose TJ, because well, have you seen his guardian? Any way to be closer to HIM would be worth it.  :)

Todd vows to win back Carly’s affections.

And he will.  Because it’s kismet. Never before have I seen these two actors/characters click like they do.  Their dysfunctionality makes for a plethora of potential fun.  Hopefully this plethora will include Todd shirtless.

Spinelli attempts to get out of his deal with Tracy.

Good luck with that.  You made a deal with the devil and you’re locked in, dude.  Might as well enjoy the ride.

Will legal troubles prevent Steve and Olivia’s marriage?

Maybe, but ultimately the whole termination of Scott’s contract is the bigger problem.  Bummer.  He looks really good without a shirt on, even with a fake knife and fake blood all over him.

Duke takes Anna out on a date.

Probably because SHE AND LUKE ARE OVER!?

Todd’s trial begins.

Todd’s going to have to leave at some point, at least temporarily, since OLTL got a second life.

Molly tries to get Alexis to take in Rafe.

Yeah, not smart, Alexis. Be a real mom here.  Please.

Molly and Alexis vow to find Rafe a suitable home.

Isn’t there something called Child Services that takes care of that kind of thing?

As the hospital investigates the patient’s death, Patrick stands by Sabrina.

That’s sweet.  I’m happy for him. And her. But I still think they’re not a good match.

Sonny tries to talk Kate into therapy so that she can integrate Connie and Kate.

Sonny.  Sonny, Sonny, Sonny…rarely does someone that needs therapy want to go into therapy.  Good luck.

Kate eventually agrees.

Oh, yeah. I forgot about that power Sonny seems to have over every woman to ever cross his path.  Whoops.

Before she can go to therapy, Kate hears a voice calling her name.

I hear boxes of Thin Mints calling my name.  Probably that’s not the same kind of thing though.

Later the two make love, but is it Connie or is it Kate?

Yes, I really did just picture Connie/Kate and a box of Thin Mints.  I have issues.

Sonny wonders when he makes a discovery that gives him pause.

There’s a THIRD? Hee hee.

Kelly Sullivan mentions in SID, that she thinks that neither Connie nor Kate are the true host. She says there may be a third, the young girl who fell in love with Sonny.

OMG.  I’m freaking PSYCHIC! (I totally did NOT read that until AFTER I wrote the comment about a third.  I am psychic!!!)

Kevin considers a future with Lucy.

What? Because she’s not nuts now? Really Kevin, that’s just crappy. I expect better of you.

Laura plans to tell Luke that Anna is cheating on him.

LAURA! THEY’RE NOT DATING FOR CRYING OUT LOUD!

Tracy tries to bribe Spinelli to get the pickle relish recipe.

Oh, geez. This pickle relish thing is really, really silly.

AJ is on Cloud 9 because Liz agreed to go out with him.

I sort of am, too.  I kind of like them together. (Even though she’s got a history of crappy relationships) Plus, did you see her in the red dress? I might want to go out with her, too.

Liz tells Sabrina to just tell Patrick she loves him.

I know this is going to end up a romance of some sort (unless Patrick does leave with Robin as rumors say) and all I can say is, “Ew”.  I just don’t see it.

Heather clears Todd of any involvement in the Ferncliff breakout.

Because she’s got something up her sleeve?

Carly views Todd on TV, and something he says may change both of their lives forever.

“I don’t do Hulu?”

Steve Webber leaves the show after he is arrested at his wedding to Olivia by Memphis police.

Bail? Ever heard of bail?

Sonny is in serious danger of losing his son to A.J., however his hands are tied because reverting to his old ways would only make the situation worse.

And the new head of the show wants more love and less violence.  What do YOU think will happen?

  1. Maggie says:

Can’t believe how much I’m loving AJ! His scene in the hospital chapel (with Elizabeth when Steve was having surgery) just made me melt. I kind of like them together too, but only if she doesn’t hurt him. (I’m starting to feel very protective :) ) He is my current favorite character!

  2. Julie says:

Yeah, Anna and Luke broke up, but Laura doesn’t know that yet! And they have implied that Laura only said yes to Scott’s marriage proposal because she believed Luke was with Anna. So when she finds out they broke up, it should be interesting to see her reaction.

I agree with Maggie above. I’m liking Liz and AJ. At first I didn’t want them together, so this is unexpected for me. Their scenes lately have been great though. I’m rooting for them, but I really want him to back off the ELQ nonsense. He’s been “dead” for years but he can just walk back into town and take over a multi-national corporation? I don’t think so. And Edward left Pickle-Lila to Tracey. That should ensure that AJ has no right to it, even if he does find/steal the recipe.

I’m very glad they decided not to kill Steve. I hate when they kill legacy characters for no reason. Writing him off by sending him to jail is a much better option so that he can come back some day. Liz needs family. It would really be awful for them to kill her brother. But to your point about bail, even if he got it, he would not be allowed to leave Tennessee. I wish they would have let him stay through the Nurse’s Ball. He’s a fantastic performer.
