The Associated Press reported Steve Burton will be moving to CBS’s Y&R.

Burton will begin airing on January 29th.

What happened to Tennessee?

Burton announced his new gig Monday on the CBS show, “The Talk”.

Apparently Sony was so willing to work with the actor they are accommodating his schedule to commute from Tennessee.

Dude’s going to have some serious frequent flyer miles.

Burton will play Dylan McAvoy, an ex-soldier with a secret, which is right up the actor’s alley.

He said he’s a little concerned because he doesn’t know the character.

I suspect that happens when you’ve been one person for about 21 years and are suddenly someone else.

Oh, wait.  That sort of happened on GH, too didn’t it?

The soap has held the top spot in daytime rankings for over 25 years and is currently produced by former GH producer Jill Phelps.

Burton said he knows his fans will be disappointed that he’s not returning to GH.

“To play a character for that long is amazing, but as an actor you want to do something new,” he said. “I get to play a whole new character and a whole different life.”
